Draft for legal review
This is a plain-language draft written for the beta. It must be reviewed by a lawyer before public launch.
Keyhound helps comic collectors track collections and judge deals. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: your collection is private, we never sell your data, and you can export or delete everything at any time.
What we collect
- Account: email, display name, a hashed password (we never see or store the plain password), plan and billing status.
- Collector data you enter: collection items, purchase prices, photos, wishlist, watched listings, preferences, listings you analyze and sales you report.
- Usage: which outbound marketplace links you click (to measure partner referrals and affiliate attribution), and basic security logs.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive a customer ID and subscription status, never your card number.
How we use it
- To run the product: values, deal verdicts, alerts, signing matches and collection paths.
- To send emails you ask for (verification, alerts, weekly digest). You can turn alerts off in your profile.
- To improve accuracy. Sales you report are reviewed and, once verified, may become anonymous sold comps with no link to you.
- Aggregated, de-identified statistics (for example, “clicks to a partner store this month”). We never share data that identifies you without your consent.
What we never do
- Sell your personal data.
- Show your purchase prices or collection publicly. Shared “Deal or No Deal” cards contain the listing analysis only.
- Let affiliate links or sponsors change a verdict, ranking or signing match.
Service providers
We use hosting, database, email delivery, file storage and payment providers to run the service. They process data only on our instructions.
Your choices and rights
- Export: download all your data as JSON (and your collection as CSV) from Profile → Your data.
- Delete: permanently delete your account from the same page. Backups roll off within 30 days.
- Correct: edit your data in the app at any time.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or CCPA), you may have further rights. Contact us to exercise them.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in, and local storage to remember your theme. We don't use advertising trackers.
Children
Keyhound is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
